Introduction- 6 weeks to Eagle Pass

EVERYONE has had an injury or a disease that has knocked them off course, if only temporarily. I see it everyday. This blog is about bouncing back, or getting you to the next level physically, mentally, spiritually. This is not about me or my injury. However, my own injuries have spurred some serious reflection on injury, pain, and aging. It does not matter if these are "major" or "minor" injuries, the underlying problem is the same. I will address many topics from the perspective of an MD and a patient. After seeing patients in pain from degenerative, age-related conditions for several years I have come to realize that traditional western medicine is great and wonderful on many levels, but leaves some issues unaddressed. Some traditional treatment approaches leaves some stones left unturned which can leave doctors and patients frustrated and looking for answers. The addition of some alternative approaches can facilitate healing and address many of these unanswered questions. My journey and the intent of this blog is to explore the balance between these two approaches. Topics I will discuss will include: Pain and injury philosophies Regenerative medicine Addressing the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual components of injury/healing and aging/youth The balance between western/traditional medicine and eastern/alternative medicine Information on individuals and treatments I find particularly noteworthy (alternative and traditional) Living present and fully Addiction Nutrition Exploring various treatments and their benefits Exercise like you've never thought about it before • Pain and injury philosophies • Regenerative medicine • Addressing the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual components of injury/healing and aging/youth • The balance between western/traditional medicine and eastern/alternative medicine • Information on individuals and treatments I find particularly noteworthy (alternative and traditional) • Living present and fully • Addiction • Nutrition • Exploring various treatments and their benefits • Exercise like you've never thought about it before I will be discussing these on a level not discussed in a doctor's office and not readily available in most forums. I am hoping to add an angle you may not normally be used to. I had surgery 4 days ago. I am skiing at Eagle Pass B.C. in 6 weeks so here we go...!
